Taxation

Recent tax changes in Saskatchewan have made it a very competitive place to do business in terms of corporate income tax.  The following chart shows Saskatchewan in the top four for effective corporate income tax rates.

Comparing to Alberta and British Columbia, the lower costs of doing business in other measures more than makes up for differences in taxation rates as is evident from KPMG’s Competitive Alternatives study found in the “Cost of Doing Business” section of this website.  The overall cost of doing business in Saskatchewan is competitive amongst all of Canada’s provinces.

For a further breakdown of taxation rates by Corporate entity and location, the charts below show the various taxation levels for Canadian-Controlled Private Corporations, Non-Canadian-Controlled Private Corporations and the mill rates found in the City of Regina and the surrounding Rural Municipalities.
